Uitnodiging oratie dr. H.T. van der Velden
Op 6 februari a.s. zal dr. Hugo van der Velden benoemd worden tot Rijksmuseumhoogleraar Kunstgeschiedenis van de Middeleeuwen, in het bijzonder van de Lage Landen, aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. De lezing is getiteld: Bruegels grauw. Het beeld als historische bron.

Derde Dag van de Medioneerlandistiek
Uitnodiging voor de Derde Dag van de Medioneerlandistiek
Na Antwerpen in 2012 en Utrecht in 2013 heeft de sectie historische Nederlandse Letterkunde van de UGent de eer om de Derde Dag van de Medioneerlandistiek te organiseren. Deze Derde Dag, die zal plaatsvinden op vrijdag 22 mei 2015, bestaat uit twee luiken. De voormiddag is gewijd aan gedachtewisselingen met Paul Wackers (UU), Frank Willaert (UA), Frits van Oostrom (UU) en Thom Mertens (UA) over de toekomst van de medioneerlandistiek, en de studie van de historische Nederlandse letterkunde in het algemeen. In de namiddag hebben de deelnemers de keuze uit vier gegidste wandelingen in Gent. Ter gelegenheid van deze Derde Dag willen we een brochure samenstellen waarin elke geïnteresseerde de mogelijkheid krijgt zijn/haar huidig onderzoeks- of onderwijsproject voor te stellen. Op die manier willen we op de hoogte blijven van elkaars werkzaamheden en een staalkaart bieden van wat tegenwoordig in de medioneerlandistiek leeft. Eveneens hopen we dat het uitwisselen van die informatie toekomstige (samenwerkings)initiatieven in ons vakgebied kan bevorderen. De brochure zal op de Derde Dag zelf worden voorgesteld en uitgedeeld.
Concreet vragen we degene die aan deze brochure wil meewerken een formulier in te vullen. Dit document kan verkregen worden door een mail te sturen naar ine.kiekens@ugent.be. Let op dat alle inzendingen voor de brochure voor 9 februari a.s. binnen moeten zijn.

Workshop Biographical Data in a Digital World (Amsterdam, 9/04)
Binnen het project BiographyNet wordt op 9 april 2015 een workshop georganiseerd in Amsterdam m.b.t. ICT analyses van biografische data. De organisatoren lanceren een call for papers. Voorstellen omvatten maximaal 2500 woorden en dienen aangeleverd te worden vóór 31 januari. U vindt alle informatie op de webpagina.

Prijs ‘Pro Civitate’ 2015
De Koninklijke Academies voor Wetenschappen en Kunsten van België reiken de ‘Pro Civitate’ Prijs uit aan een onuitgegeven doctoraatsverhandeling die een originele en belangrijke bijdrage vormt tot de stadsgeschiedenis of tot de lokale geschiedenis. Kandidaturen voor de Prijs 2015, vergezeld van de nodige documenten, moeten worden ingediend vóór 30 april 2015. U vindt alle informatie in bijgaande oproep.
CFP: Early Medieval Practices of Reading and Writing
The Huygens Institute announces a three-day conference in Den Haag, The Netherlands from 3-5 June 2015 entitled ” ‘Namque ego suetus eram hos libros legisse frequenter’: Early Medieval Practices of Reading and Writing”. The conference deals with the subject of books, practices of writing, reading, copying and studying in the early Middle Ages. It is organized by the research project “Marginal Scholarship: The Practice of Learning in the Early Middle Ages (c. 800 – c. 1000)”. We invite papers on the following themes:
1. Practices of annotating
2. The profile of annotating practices
3. Cultures of writing
A selection of the papers from the conference will be collected in an edited volume, to be published in 2016.
