The University of York seeks to appoint a full-time Lecturer in Medieval History (c.800 – c.1200) with a preference for European history, including the British Isles. The position is based in the Department of History, Heslington, and available from September 2017.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering teaching across the Department within the area of Medieval History; carrying out individual or collaborative research projects, leading to the production of research outputs/outcomes, and undertaking relevant administrative and managerial duties.

You should have a PhD in a field of Medieval History relevant to the post, and ideally hold an appropriate teaching qualification. It is expected that you will have an emerging publication record in a relevant field, with proven experience of taking responsibility for teaching at undergraduate, and preferably postgraduate, level.

The University of Edinburgh is seeking an outstanding scholar of Late Medieval history c1200 to 1500 with a strong track record of internationally excellent publications and clear evidence of the potential for future development at the highest level. The successful candidate will also be expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching of Medieval history at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Candidates with interests in the history of gender and sexuality, the history of science, medicine and technology, global and transnational history, material culture, and intellectual history would be particularly welcome.

The post is tenable from 1 September 2017 and is open-ended.

De vzw Vlaamse Erfgoedbibliotheek is samen met de Nederlandse Taalunie en de Koninklijke Bibliotheek van Nederland verantwoordelijk voor de Digitale Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren (DBNL). De DBNL is een website over de Nederlandse literatuur, taal en cultuurgeschiedenis. De site bevat literaire teksten, secundaire literatuur en aanvullende informatie. De Koninklijke Bibliotheek is als uitvoerder van dit Nederlands-Vlaams project verantwoordelijk voor de digitalisering en ontsluiting van de teksten. De Vlaamse Erfgoedbibliotheek is onder meer verantwoordelijk voor de Werkgroep Content die advies levert over de werken die gedigitaliseerd moeten worden.

Voor de opvolging van het project en het verhogen van het gebruik en de visibiliteit van de DBNL in Vlaanderen, zoekt de Vlaamse Erfgoedbibliotheek een deskundige en gedreven projectmedewerker, die nauw samenwerkt met de DBNL-coördinator in de KB Den Haag.

Kandidaten beschikken over een masterdiploma, bij voorkeur in Taal- of Letterkunde (Nederlands), hebben affiniteit met bibliotheken, eventueel ook erfgoed, en hebben affiniteit met academisch onderzoek, eventueel ook onderwijs.

Het Internationaal Instituut voor Sociale Geschiedenis te Amsterdam, Afdeling Collectieverwerking, is op zoek naar twee archivarissen (80%) voor de duur van 1 jaar. Kandidaten zijn vertrouwd met informatietechnologie en het gebruik van internationale standaarden, met name EAD. Durham University’s Institute of Medieval and Early Modern Studies and University College are delighted to welcome applications from senior academics at other Universities for the 2017-18 Slater Fellowship.

The Slater Fellowship is designed to enable the postholder to carry out research in Durham for a period of one term, during which time fellows are offered full board and accommodation at University College, with up to £200 available towards travel expenses.

Applicants should submit a CV and a brief summary of what they propose to work on during their time at Durham (maximum one side of A4). They must demonstrate how their proposed research complements or ties in with IMEMS research strands, or the research of individual members of the Institute.

Proposals for projects involving Durham staff or postgraduate students and those which are interdisciplinary in nature are particularly welcome. Proposals for research using primary source material in the collections held in Palace Green Library, Durham Cathedral Library and Ushaw College Library are also encouraged.

Applications should be submitted no later than Saturday 4^th March  2017 to admin.imems@durham.ac.uk and candidates will be notified of the outcome in early April 2017.

When applying, please indicate your availability during the academic year 2017/18, noting that the timing of the Fellowship is variable depending on the availability of accommodation.

Het departement Geschiedenis van de Universiteit van Antwerpen zoekt een voltijds (100%) doctor-assistent in de geschiedenis. De kandidaat beschikt over een diploma doctor in de geschiedenis en een sterk onderzoeksprofiel. De opdracht bestaat onder meer in het verrichten van onderzoek en verlenen van ondersteuning bij het ontwikkelen van onderzoek in het domein van de geschiedenis van de middeleeuwen, de nieuwe of de nieuwste tijd. Hij/zij dingt mee naar extern gefinancierde onderzoeksbeurzen en doceert als co-titularis het opleidingsonderdeel Historisch Atelier.
